Erdrick of Deje
Journeyman Cartographer
Statistics:

Contacts:
Erdrick grew up in the small Thran of Deje, the son of a hunter/trapper. From a very young age, Erdrick joined his father on the hunt, though was never particularly any good at the occupation. He didn't have the knack, or desire for the occupation, but he did enjoy being out in the wilderness. Having an eye for details, and an excellent memory, he started making "maps" which told the story of his travels, where the good game could be found, and their general migrations. His father saw this talent of Erdrick's, a talent that was useful enough to keep bringing on the hunt, even if Erdrick was otherwise lacked the interest of a hunter.
Most of these early maps of his weren't very accurate or detailed, but over time he gradually honed his skills to produce maps of an acceptable quality. When he was 14, he was eventually sent to Trond and apprenticed into the Cartographer occupation, but otherwise retained the tracking and foraging skills his father taught him growing up.
Erdrick has several contacts from his time in Trond. His "aunt" Svala, who was lady of the house while staying in Trond. He occassionally writes his aunt, and has been back once or twice since he left. He also had dealings with Skardi Olafson, a jeweler in Trond, and a member of Svala's clan. They never particularly got along, but Skardi has a grudging respect for Erdrick. Erdrick had received his silver broach as a going away gift from his Aunt, which was made by Skardi.
When Erdrick completed his apprenticeship, he began to travel around the area, exploring and getting a sense of the region, translating his thoughts onto the parchment that became his maps. Several years ago, he found himself in Ygesdram, where his reputation, or rather one of his maps, had preceded him. It was a poetic map of the Leim River with detail not seen before. It was almost like you could have used it to plan military movements along the river. As could be expected the Valhakar of Ygesdram was concerned about such map falling into a rival's hand. At first, Erdrick was suspected of subterfuge, but after some questioning, it was determined that Erdrick posed little threat.
In the intervening years, Erdrick has been working on a project for the Valhakar, a map of his lands of such precision, to be displayed in the Greathall. When he came to Ygesdram, he had little military training, except that of the shortbow. When he is not working on the great map, or out and about exploring the countryside, he can usually be found training with shield and spear.
This past winter, he was given a task by the Valhakar to map out the routes by which the Valhakar intends to send troops, so that up-to-date information is available. Erdrick has recently returned to Ygesdram during the afternoon of 6 Nuzyael, and busy at work revising the existing maps of the area.

-Silver Broach (8 drams) adorned with 6 Moonstone Gemstones (5 carats) - 1230d *

The Silver broach was originally Gold, adorned with 4 carats of Chrysolite... which would have been worth over 17,600d so I decided to regenerate some details...

Re: Character Sheet
Erdrick marched with the Daas host to attack Froyby. He remained close to the Daas during most of the fighting, he fought bravely and with courage however, during the thick of the fighting he went missing during the retreat from Froyby and has not been seen since.
