"Jurri, your suggestion of a sauna and some new clothes is a good one. Do you know of a good tailor? The problem is that having clothes custom made could take longer than we can spare, but perhaps they have some existing clothing they could alter quickly. If it is away from the Roving Doom's temple, perhaps you could show me."

Kugald makes a quick tally of his available funds and is confident he can afford a decent shirt and trousers.

Jurri and Zeuol, I want you to stay with the boat."

His face caked in white salt from the sea, Zeuol nods at his captains orders. Though when Jurri proposes the sauna and Kugald takes him up on the offer, the man speaks up, asking, "Is it just me watching the boat? And for how long?"

[Jurri Grebel]

Jurri nods, "As I recall, the Liersen brothers do business not far from here. I suspect they can accommodate your needs." He points down one of the streets radiating out from the wharf, "It's that way."

[Bjarni Daasen]

"I cannot afford new clothes so will make do and try and tidy up." Bjarni says dabbing at the various stains on his only tunic. "I have a length of wadmal in my seachest, I could use it as a cloak I guess"

[Kugald Daas]

"No Zeuol, you will not be alone." He claps his hand on Borygg's shoulder, "Borygg will stay with you. Won't you Borygg?"

"Don't worry, I will make sure you have time to clean up too."

"Come, we have little time to waste. We meet back hear at sundown. Agreed?"

"So shipwright, tailors and a bath eh?" Algared says as he follows.

[Borygg Raal]

"Borygg will stay with you. Won't you Borygg?"

Borygg bows deeply and responds with mock sincerity, "As you wish, my lord."

[Barak Daas]

"So shipwright, tailors and a bath eh?" Algared says as he follows.

"And a jeweller, ursurer or mercantyler, else I have no money to spend."

Barak is also looking for, and may have enough coins to be able to afford: A small piece of beeswax (4 oz?), 4ft of 1/4" rope (perhaps the shipwright will add it to the half ton of spares?), and a small black flint (for fire lighting).

Everything else will have to wait until he has some money - though Barak is not above asking the tailor if they are prepared to do a deal on some clothing, a lot of silver etc, in return for a rock (but Barak doubts that they will have enough cash, nor the clothes he wants in his size). Barak will also ask if they deal in second hand clothes.

Barak will grab a sack from his chest before he sets off (and for the record he is wearing his normal town garb, i.e. clothes, belt, pouches, and hunting knife).

Borygg bows deeply and responds with mock sincerity, "As you wish, my lord."

Kugald thanks Borygg profusely for accepting this onerous task...

"You will get your chance to see the town. We will be back as soon as we can. My idea of hiring an additional sailor or two to man the boat in our absence looks better now, eh?"

Zeuol decided to interject with a suggestion, "I should point out since we have yet to reached our destination - bathing and putting on new clothes will be countered by another day on the water. Perhaps readying ourselves once we dock at Pelyn and before we seek an audience at the King's hall would be the best course of action."

[Bjarni Daasen]

"Zeoul, you are a deep thinker indeed. You make a good point."

[Kugald Daas]

"Still, I will need a better shirt to change into and I smell..." Kugald makes an exaggerated sniff, "Though, no worse than you lot!"

Kugald gestures to Algared, Bjarni and Barak. "Let's be off."

Sticks a belaying pin in his belt and says "I am ready"

"I don't know why worry so much Kuguld. All this washing is bad for your health, bringing on the dropsie and the shivers. It is only the women worry about how they smell all the time."

[Bjarni Daasen]

"In Orbaal everyone smells of fish. You get used to it."

[Barak Daas]

"Well," says Barak "since we are in the docks, going to the ship builder seems like a sensible first step." Since he can see the ship builders yard he starts in that direction "Come on Algared, time to get the double-blocks for the sheets and the deal planking to replace the rotten bits of deck..."

[Algared]

Algared nods his head in agrreement with Barak and so the five (including Jurri, Kuglad and Bjarni) head off towards the shipwrights first in order to try aquire a second anchor and some more spares so that they can bring the Farvie back up the sleek craft she once was.

Algared will encourage them to seek out a weapon smith inorder to aquire some javlins and arrows, before heading to the either the tailors or baths.

[Barak Daas]

[OoC: Unless I've missed something it is the five of us who set off: Algarad, Barak, Bjarni, Jurri and Kuguld. Sigrun is on her own erand, and Borygg and Zeoul are with the boat].

The water laps up against the boat, as the group of men depart leaving just Borygg and Zeuol. The latter turns to the former and asks, "With some quiet time and the unlikely event the our meager boat will be set upon by cunning theives, care to share a bit of your history either your lifes tale or just our current company journey? I'd like to hear, both but whatever you feel comfortable speaking about."

The group of five make their way across the merchants market which is winding down for the day and continue on to the shipwright. The buildings here are huge and are abuzz with activity you can see what must be over a dozen men working around the yards. This yard is the biggest seen by any of the warband.

As they approach they are greeted by a man in his mid twenties who looks up from his work as he stops his planing down some wood. He makes his way towards you as he brushes his blonde hair out of his face.

Rubbing his beard he says "Anything I can do for you?" the wood shavings falling to the ground as he walks towards you.

"An anchor?" he says as he looks skyward "For what sort of vessel?" he questions. As he is told of the vessels size Kugald attempts to point it out "Ah, tis a fine vessel" he says mockingly.

"Sorry, anchors are not the sort of thing we stock here, not much of a need unless we build the whole vessel too!" he smiles. "I could have one of the apprentices craft one for you if you wish to make an order?"

[Bjarni Daasen]

"Why are we buying an anchor for? A rock with a rope netted to it is all we need for our little Farvie."

[Algared]

frowning slightly at Bjarni's words Algared speaks to the shipwright in answer, 'No having one fashioned wont be needed, I believe my captain has asked our pilot to catch the morning tied, however regardless, our chippe has indidcated our little craft is is need of supplies for repairs, and we also need some supplies in order to carry out repairs. we still have some supplies aboard for repairs, still I'm assured we could use some more."

Algared lists the supplies required, blocks, ropes and the like and asks the cost for supplies required.

The boat is as good as it is going to get with the repairs that have already been carried out - the 1/2 tun of spares is still aboard and as yet unused

If the boat needed further repairs why have you not used the spares you already have?

As already explained you do not need extra to fashion the repairs for the boat. It merely needed the man hours to make those repairs as has already been explained. You are on a journey that at worst may take less than a tenday do you really what more than 5 repairs

Post by GM It would seem the sails and rigging will need about 40 manhours to repair completely and the hull about 60 manhours to repair. You will need about a tun of spares to complete the repairs. Which you currently do not have.

We were told that apart from requiring 100hours or work we would need 1 tun of supplies. Since we only aquired 1/2 a tun so far which also haven't been used at present we would still require (according to the above) another 1/2 tun to complete the repairs hence why we were looking

My reading of the above was we would need to put in manhours and use the supplies failure to use the supplies we have, had more to do with not applying the manhours than not needing the supplies. If we dont need to use any supplies to repair the farvie then of course we dont wont more.
