Time: Beginning 1st watch - Mid 2nd watch

The sleet and brisk northerly winds have stopped during the night, a steady wind blows from the north east but the temperature is still cool, there is only a scattering of clouds in the sky and there is a range of orange, purple and blue hues revealed in the eastern sky by the rising Nolomar.

Placing a few logs upon the coals of the hearth fire the fire once again comes to life as your warband go about their morning routines.

You are able to break your morning fast with warm oats, rye bread and some more fruit.

[Bjarni Daasen]

Bjarni will perform his ablutions, get dressed into his newly washed old tunic, and prepare as best he can for the audience/meeting. He does not have a razor any more, but will shave his head with his knife, assuming he can get it sharp enough.

[Svardkell Holg]

"You're pretty enough now for the Lords then big man?" Svardkell jaws with a grunt and a laugh.

[Bjarni Daasen]

"You never know, one of them may have a daughter"

[Svardkell Holg]

"Ha, now that I would pay to see. We'd sooner see a white raven before we saw any of our band with a noble's daughter. Most of them are too ugly anyway my friend."

[Bjarni Daasen]

"Ugly? Who cares? You don't look at the mantlepiece when you are stoking the fire"

Time: Till mid 4th watch

Just after high Nolomar the sky opens up and rain begins to fall, about half a watch later a wet Algared enters the meadhall having returned from Orebro.

[Algared]

Algared unpacks and goes to wash ensuring his beard is trimmed and tidy before he begins to dress for the feast. As he dresses he informs his companions that he has restocked their supply of bandages, and that while he tried to find what the contents of the flask were as well as sell the tunic he was unsuccessful.

"While we do want ensure we pass on to the next of kin something from your leaders possessions Svardkell, If we want to return much of it to coin for ease of storage we may need to try sell it to Skorri, unless any in our band would benefit."

Algared dresses in his new worsted wool blue tunic with a matching red and yellow trim along the hem and around sleeves, he slips this over a linen linen undershirt. on his legs he wears a pair of grey russet wool leggings his lower legs are wrapped in his blue ankle wraps and he wears his cleaned leather ankle boots. If the rain continues to fall Algared will also wear a undyed woolen cap.

[Svardkell Holg]

"Ugly? Who cares? You don't look at the mantlepiece when you are stoking the fire"

"You don't think that the beauty of the mantlepiece helps you stoke the fire hotter? What say you Barak?"

Svardkell looks up and acknowledges Algared's arrival. For some reason he is more intent on his "philosophical" debate on comparing the beauty of women to mantlepieces.

[Barak Daas]

"What is a mantlepiece? Some sort of cloak?" asks Barak. "Or is this a Harnic thing?"

"But as for the beauty of women, you know which fire I want to stoke, and she is beautiful".

[Svardkell Holg]

In Harn, Noblemen have them in their homes. They are shelves that sit above the fireplace and hold trinkets and baubles. In this instance we are using it as a metaphor for a woman's beauty. Bjarni said we shouldn't care about looking at a woman's face when we are humping her, especially if she is rich and we enjoy the luxury of her family's wealth. If I am correct Bjarni?

[Bjarni Daasen]

"That pretty much says it all. Barak, if we have to leave in a hurry, I will have your back if there is some woman stealing to be done.

[Algared]

Algared shrugs at Bjarni's comment and says with a smile, "Guess I take the view that what's on the mantlepiece matters as well... and it stands to reason it would work both ways" and Stee had his finery for a reason and if we hope for the opportunity to make more coin then looking the part of successful men can hardly hurt Algared thinks to himself.

[Bjarni Daasen]

Bjarni laughs "While your mantlepiece is very pretty your fireplace is safe from me"

[Algared]

"I'm gladdened to hear that, since you aren't a woman and I have no desire to stoke or have my fire stoked by you or any man." Algared replies with a laugh.

[Barak Daas]

"Boys will be boys" sighs Barak.

When the time to get dressed for the feast arrives, Barak will put on his new tunic and leggings and all his jewellery and adornments, with his best best, hunting knife (and sword if appropiate).

[GM]

With everybody preparing for the feast Jabor enters the hall dressed in his finery, he carries a jug in one hand and a tray with cups in the other.

"How about a little drink before we go?" Jabor says as he moves closer to you.

[Bjarni Daasen]

Bjarni will be dressed in his tunic and trews, with his bearskin cloak.

He will take a drink from Jabor. "Thanks. Might as well wet our whistles."

[Svardkell Holg]

Svardkell makes himself as presentable as possible and gladly takes a cup from Jabor.

"To finding the right mantlepiece my friends." Svardkell says as he lifts his cup.

[Algared]

"That sounds like a grand idea Jabor," when Svardkell offers his toast Algared says "Aye, and may we always have good friends and companions..." looking around at each in turn Algared then adds, "We happy few!" And may we not grow fewer, he thinks as an after thought.

[Svardkell Holg]

"Aye, well said my friend."

[GM]

Jabor raises his cup to make the toast "To true Algared, we grow fewer in number with each battle" then refilling his cup and ensuring that each of you has your cups filled offers another toast "To those gone and those soon to join them!" he says before draining his cup.

[Bjarni Daasen]

"Aye, to those in Talalgaard," Bjarni drains his mug and broods.

[GM]

With the contents of his tankard gone Jabor wipes his face and says "Well that has got me in the mood!" as he moves towards the door of the meadhall on his way to the feast.

[Svardkell Holg]

Svardkell will wait for the rest of the band to finish their drinks and will accompany them over to the feast as well.
