Re: 30 Peonu 720
Algared continues to fight, he will try not to do anything foolish, to collapse or die now that victory in this battle is at hand is something he wishes to avoid. If his attacker tryes to step away he will follow, but will only block attacks and strike when an opening presents itself (when a DTA is generated or his foe breaks and runs).

Barak is beginning to be annoyed by his opponent: he is totally refusing to die; he has injured young Raanar; he hasn't turned his back on Barak to flee; and he is even stopping Barak from looting. What is the point of a byti sack if there is no loot? Walking backwards across the toft means his foe is likely to stumble sooner or later. In the meantime, Barak will again try a shield push followed up with an attack with his spear if the opportunity arises.

Bjorn grins as the large man's shield shatters beneath the blow of his axe, and shouts for Meldun to press the attack. He aims a blow low toward the man's legs, attempting to take him off his feet. Also, he adopts a more aggressive stance, readying to counter attack if the Ibanvaaler strikes at him.

Re: 30 Peonu 720
The sixteen Ibanvaal warriors continue to head towards the east heading for the road to Jeinmark, they do not seem intent on stopping and continue to push on eastward.
Algared continues to do battle with the Ibanvaaler, the warrior back tracking to the east with Algared following closely. The Ibanvaaler makes a desperate move suddenly reverses his direction and quickly closes with Algared, thrusting his spear at Algared, the Daas warrior weakened from his previous wounds is unable to defend in time and the spear bites into Algared's stomach, the spear cuts deep in Algared's belly but he is unaware of the severity of the serious wound as he collapses to the ground. The Ibanvaaler scans the surroundings for a possible escape now that he is finally free.
His good fortune is not long in lasting as he is quickly set upon by another four Daas warriors and is quickly brought down by several spear blows with an axe to the back to finish him off.
Barak continues to close with the slowly retiring Ibanvaaler, the warrior does his best to keep Raanar and Barak at bay. Barak charges the Ibanvaaler with his shield raised barging past the enemies spear point and the two shields clash heavily, Barak knocks the Ibanvaaler to the ground but while doing so falls to the ground as well. Both Borygg and the Ibanvaaler although now prone manage to hang on to their weapons and shields. Raanar struggling from his wound seizes the opportunity presented by Baraks charge to drive home an attack of his own his spear is driven deeply into the Ibanvaalers chest, the warrior yells in pain but remains concious despite the serious wound..
As Bjorn calls to Meldun the Ibanvaal warrior draws two hand axes from his belt. Bjorn swinging low at the Ibanvaaler lands his blow catching the huge warrior in the right thigh, the Ibanvaaler continues to fight though and as he counterstrikes Bjorns blow his hand axe the axe finds its mark and deals a minor wound to Bjorns right hand. The trapper is able to hang on to his axe despite the injury.
Borygg surrounded by several other Daas warriors is finally free of any nearby Ibanvaal warriors, there are still several nearby caught between Borygg and Cunate Daas. These men not more than ten in number are still in battle with Daas warriors. Borygg looks about the battlefield in search of his companions. Eijryk stands not ten feet from him and Barak, Meldun, Bjorn and Bryndis are across the field near the meadhall, there is no sign of Bjarni or Algared. Sigrun can be seen standing atop the hill some ten Ibanvaaler climbing the rise towards her.
Bryn closes the last few yards and strikes at the Ibanvaal warrior, the Ibanvaaler now with two hand axes returns the shieldmaidens blow, Bryn's sword strikes against the Ibanvaalers left hip while his axe cuts deep into Bryn's left calf, the wound is extremely painful and the shieldmaiden is just able to keep her feet. The serious wound to her calf slows the shieldmaiden up.
Meldun continuing the battle against the Ibanvaaler lunges forward with his spear, the Ibanvaaler attempts to launch another attack against the priest but weakened from his many wounds is not able to land his blow. Meldun, however, is more successful and his spear point thrusts deeply into the warriors stomach. The huge man finally succumbs to his wounds and falls to the ground.
Sigrun moves back towards the tree and moves behind it, she keeps a vigil from her point of vantage.
I will await Eijryk's post then edit this post before continuing

Borygg, free from immediate combat, looks around and tries to spot his friends. If he can see any still fighting in the immediate vicinity, he'll help them out. If not, he'll attack one of the Ibanvaalers fighting the group with the Daas.

Sigrun moves to the lone tree at the top of the hill. She keeps her back against it, bow in one hand, an arrow in the other. She then slowly slides around it, looking at the progress of the continuing battle, then the retreating line, then to the east, then up and down the river. She will repeat this watch until something changes.

With the large warrior fallen, Bjorn will clap Meldun on the shoulder and ask if he's ok. Then he'll turn and look for Bryn, if she is still in combat he will raise his axe with both hands and charge her opponent.

The Ibanvaal warriors continue to head to the east, the warriors following the road when they notice that they are not being pursued to closely slow down to a walk and begin to watch behind them as they head away from the thran. They are now some 300 yards from the thran and moving further away with each moment.
Algared lies unconcious on the field of battle having finally succumb to his wounds.
Barak quickly regains his feet after being knocked down after his shoulder charge, but before he can engage his opponent, the Ibanvaaler is set upon by several Daas warriors and quickly brought down and a spear driven into the unconcious mans throat finishing him off.
Bjarni continues to lay on the battlefield amid the other bodies that are strewn around.
Bjorn looks about to find Bryn not 10' from him, the shieldmaiden bleeding from multiple wounds, however, there are no other Ibanvaalers around.
Borygg moves towards the centre of the meadow, but by the time he arrives the last of the Ibanvaalers have been brought down and a coup de grace administered.
Bryn having suffered multiple wounds looks about to find that the battle is over and her friends are still alive.
Eijryk having followed Borygg now stands near the centre of the meadow, around him lay the bodies of friend and foe alike.
Meldun stands over the prone body of the huge Ibanvaal warrior his body pierced by several wounds.
Sigrun watches from the tree, the Ibanvaal warriors continue to head east. Apart from the withdrawing Ibanvaalers the view remains unchanged the river is peaceful and quiet, there is no sign of a third warboat, nor any sign of any Ibanvaal warband approaching from the east.
The last of the Ibavaal attackers have been killed and a quiet comes over the battlefield, broken only by the calls of the wounded and dying. The wounded and dying lay in an area some 200 yards by 50 yards in this area lay the bodies of over one hundred men.

Now that fighting is over, Borygg will look around for two things: 1) bodies that look worth looting, and 2) his friends.

Seeing that the battle has ended, Meldun takes a quick moment to check his wound. He rubs his shoulder from the blow he received, then checks his stomach. Seeing only a small cut, he checks Bjorn and Bryndis. Not seeing any life threatening wounds, he will start looking around the battlefield for Barak, as well as the others.
"Thank you both for your help. I think next time, I'm going to try to be more selective about whom I fight." He will offer a weak smile to his friends. "We need to find a physician to tend to these wounds. But before we tend to those matters, let us find some bounty. Bjorn, help me roll this beast over so we can find his purse."

Once Meldun indicates that her calf and hip wounds are not serious, Bryndis will clean her blade and check her shield. If it appears serviceable or repairable, she'll sling it onto her back. If it appears to have served its useful life, she will look for another.
With shield slung, she will look for Barak, and then move across the field looking for Algared.

Barak notes that now there is looting to be done there are plenty to do it. He shrugs and secures his equipment before seeing to Raanar "That was a good kill lad, you've proved yourself a man today" he says clapping him on his back. Noticing his wince and then his stomach would he continue "That gash is nasty, you had better get it bandaged. Somewhere over ther [he points to the east] is Eyrjik. Say you fought with me and he'll patch you up. Better still come with me I may be going that way."
Noticing Bryn limping towards him with blood streaming over her boot he says "I am surprised you can walk with that cut it looks serious. Take my sholder and I will help you. You too Raanar."
Looking round he spots Meldrin and Bjorg "Come on you two, if you can loot you can fight and there is still fighting to be done."
Without looking to see if he is followed he makes his way, slowly, towards Cunate.

When Eijryk realizes the fighting is almost finished and the enemy is fleeing he will start looking around the battlefield for wounded Daas warriors.
"Borygg, I need your help to find those who still have a chance to survive. See if they breathe or have a pulse at the neck. Did you see Algared or Bjarni? They must be here somewhere. I saw them right next to you when you entered the battle."
"Hey you lads there" he points at two younger Daas warriors that doesn't look wounded. "help me find your friends that are still alive."
"You there" another standing warrior "go see if Jabor has some clear spirits. Actually we should set up the meadhouse as sickroom. Go find Jabor and his staff if they are still alive."
"And you" a fourth warrior that looks in decent shape "go find all you can that is able to help separate the dead from those still alive here. We have a lot of work to do! The looting can wait! They won't go nowhere."
He then decides where to start his work. Any Daas warrior that is lying down but moving or moaning nearby he will lean down to and start examining to see how bad the wounds are. If the wounds bleeds heavily he will bind them with his own bandages from his bag. He realizes though that this will not last very long, lots of clean cloth will be needed.
'Where is that Hervold by the way. We need his herbs as well.' Eijryk thinks to himself as he works on his first subject.

Borygg tells Eijryk that he has not yet seen Algared or Bjarni (or any other of their group for that matter), then starts checking the wounded and dead as instructed by Eijryk. Of course, this doesn't stop him from doing a quick check for obvious valuables on any Ibanvaalers as he assesses their condition.Eijryk Orbaason wrote:"Borygg, I need your help to find those who still have a chance to survive. Bjorn nods to Barak, then at the mention of 'fighting to be done' he looks around the battlefield with a puzzled look on his face. Smoke from the fires covers the area in a soft haze, and the groaning of the wounded greets his ears. But it appears the last of the remaining Ibanvaalers has been killed and the fight is over. The large man shrugs, and then picks himself up to follow after Barak. On the way he bandages up his injured hand and leg as best he can, and looks for a new shield and a spear, having lost both in the battle. He'll also keep an eye out for anything valuable that he can grab, and armor large enough to fit him (Heavy Frame: 204/.

The haze of combat still not lifted, Bryndis looks a little confused at Barak’s statement. Both her hip and her leg hurt, but they serve to confirm that she is still alive; has not only survived another day, but continues to remain undefeated. At Barak’s offer of a shoulder to lean on, she will wave him off “Help the lad, I can walk okay.”Barak Daas wrote:Noticing Bryn limping towards him with blood streaming over her boot he says "I am surprised you can walk with that cut it looks serious. Take my shoulder and I will help you. You too Raanar."
She will fall into step with Barak, making towards the left flank, where last she saw Algared and the others. She’ll continue to scan around her, looking for one of the few people she knows, double checking that the dead invaders are indeed dead. She will cast a wistful eye, longingly over the armour of her dead opponent.
[OoC : Yes, the wound is probably worse than she’s letting on/realizes… but she won’t let THAT defeat her either At least, not until she collapses from blood loss… though I hope it doesn’t come to that]

Raanar smiles weakly at Barak's congratulations, the wounded lad follows Barak as he makes his way towards Cunate's location and from this distance can see him in conversation with Thaldirs, by the time Barak arrives Thaldirs is gathering together the thirty warriors that are standing around and leads them towards the east.
Bjorn follows Barak as he heads towards Cunate Daas, Bjorn is able to locate a spear and shield on the ground amongst the fallen as he makes his way through the mass of dead and wounded, taking a bandage from his gear bag he is able to bind the wound on his hand quickly.
Borygg starts to search through several of the Ibanvaal bodies for loot, it quickly becomes apparent from the few bodies he searches that the warriors have no wealth on them at all. There is no jewellry, beltpouches or other wealth on their bodies. It seems that the only things of worth on them would be their arms and armour (which there is currently an abundance of in Ygesdram at this time). Not really sure what Eijryk means by check for a pulse at the neck means Borygg checks the bodies for any signs of life.
Bryn barely able to walk stumbles across the field of battle, her wounds starting to tell on her, as the adreline begins to fade (not that any of you understand what adreline is!!!!) Barak and Raanar quickly leave Bryn behind as they head towards Cunate's location with Bryn following.
Eijryk looks about the field and finds that in an area of some 200 yards by 50 yards lay the bodies of over one hundred men. Eijryk begins to call instructions to those about him. Kneeling down where he is he begins to treat the nearest wounded warrior near him, the man is unconcious and has multiple wounds the first a serious stab to his neck, another serious stab to his right thigh and a third serious wound his left shoulder.
Meldun says "We need to find a physician to tend to these wounds. But before we tend to those matters, let us find some bounty. Bjorn, help me roll this beast over so we can find his purse." Bjorn seems not to hear Meldun as he heads off following Barak. Meldun rolls the giant over alone and kneeling beside the prostate body finds there is nothing of worth upon his body. It seems that if he has any wealth he did not bring it with him. After a quick search of the body Meldun stands and jogs to catch up with Barak, Bjorn, Raanar and a trailing Bryn.
Sigrun watches continues to watch from the hill top, the Ibanvaalers continue to withdraw.

Re: 30 Peonu 720
Eijryk will try to make a judgement for each of the seriously wounded warriors he finds lying on the ground if he (or she) is beyond hope of bringing to life or not. Those too seriously wounded to have decent chance of surviving and those with just minor wounds like Eijryk himself will have to stand down on the priority list of getting treated.
Unless he thinks his first subject is not worth a treatment (because he is too close to Thalagaad) he will treat his wounds and then ask or shout for someone nearby to bring the body out the battle area, preferably all the way to the meadhall to start setting up a sickroom there. Eijryk will then move on to the next warrior and make a judgement what category he belongs to (Dead, Hopelessly wounded or Seriously wounded. Better than that, they are probably conscious and can likely wait until the Seriously wounded have been stabilised.)
(OOC: I'm not sure of what level of medicine is known here and I'm not a medicine expert myself either so perhaps feeling a pulse on the neck is too modern but what I meant was to look for any known life signs.)
Post by GM Eijryk would be able to feel for a pulse because he understands what he is looking for and where to find it, Borygg on the other hand has a substantially lower physician ML and so his understanding of such matter is much lower
